Meet Jeanise From The Artisanat Cooperative
“My name is Jeanise. I am one of the first Artisanat employees and have been working here since the beginning. I am 48 years old and am now the Embroidery Manager. I am in charge of giving the work to the embroiderers and check the quality of the work before every product moves to the next stage.
When I first started working at the Haiti Projects Artisanat Cooperative I was an embroiderer and then an assistant. I was also a sewer as I worked my way up to become the Embroidery Manager.
I have two children – a 17 year old and a 10 year old. I also adopted another child when he was 8 years old – he is now 17 years old. I use my salary to pay for school for my family and food for the house. It if was not for Haiti Projects I would not be able to send them to school or even feed them. Because of Haiti Projects my kids are getting an education, which is the biggest benefit for me.”
